Disc golf is one of my favorite hobbies. I get to visit many parks around Houston and beyond. I also get to make new friends and hang out with some crazy characters. In any city I can find the closest course and I’m sure to make a friend. Jerry Cloud was a Jack Brooks Park local. He was always complaining about his shots. And yours also if you were hot – even if you were on his team. I seemed to always have a good putting game when I played with him. But you pretty much had to be perfect to beat him on his turf. I only got a few from him. A true salty dog. He was good people and he will be missed. (more…)
Hands down the best photo I’ll ever take… but I may be biased. This is my son Victor caught during some early play time. He’s very active in the mornings so it’s hard to take a picture of him that is not blurry. I’ve been using Adobe Lightroom to export non-destructive images of my favorite photos, most of which will appear on this photo blog.
For the new Sessions Music website, Icons were needed for each type of music lessons that are provided. These were to be placed prominently on the homepage as secondary access points to the lesson landing pages.
Was going through some old files and found one of the HTML mockups that resulted from the photo shoot. This is from the days before web fonts were restricted. I spend a lot of time trying to wean clients off of the older safe font systems (times, arial, georgia) but sometimes they are just what you need to get the job done.
Got to play dominos with my family on a recent vacation. Had not played in years. Forgot how much I liked to doodle while waiting for my turn.
Testing my 50mm lens with some tripod assistance.
Visit Spring Valley Disc golf course if you are in Houston. It’s a 9 hole golf course with a separate 18 hole finesse disc golf course. On the weekdays you can also play on the golf course disc golf holes if you want to really open up your drives. $3 to play – the grounds crew does a great job adding little items like this tree face to keep the course nice. Different basket placements and regular updates to keep the course challenging.
Expanding my Illustrator knowledge. I didn’t realize how great the Image Trace feature was. After years of using Flash’s trace bitmap this is a much welcome change.
Yeah, Yeah, I know. Better late than never!
